  • Charitable Endeavours and Community Work: developing empathy, social responsibility, and active citizenship through fundraising, volunteering and meaningful engagement with the local and wider community

  • Collective Worship: regular opportunities for reflection that promote our school values, encourage spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development, and help pupils think about themselves, others and the wider world

  • Community Culture Week: sharing and celebrating over 40 cultures in our school community

  • Fun Activities to foster a sense of joy and belonging: immersion days, surprise attendance days (e.g., farm animal visits, silent discos, inflatable assault courses), trips & visits, real-life, practical activities in lessons

  • Houses: teamwork, belonging, and school pride; led by Shakespeare, Henry, Whittle, and Ellis

  • Immersion Days: themed, experience-led curriculum days

  • In-School Visitors: bringing learning to life through workshops and experiences e.g. guest speakers such as Olympic Gold Medallist and world record hold, Anna Hopkin, historical workshops, animal experiences, geography workshops

  • Pupil Leadership Roles: Head Boy & Girl, House Captains, School Council, Eco Warriors, Prefects and other positions of responsibilities

  • Real-life Practical Enrichment: applying skills and knowledge to meaningful, everyday contexts

  • Residentials: valuable overnight experiences that develop independence, resilience, teamwork, and confidence, while strengthening friendships and creating lasting memories through shared challenges and activities

  • RSE (Relationships and Sex Education): age-appropriate learning that helps children understand relationships, respect, wellbeing and how to keep themselves safe, supporting them to develop healthy attitudes and positive choices

  • SAB 50 Things: At SAB, we have our own list of 50 Things to Do Before You’re 11¾. These are carefully chosen experiences designed to help every child grow, explore, and enjoy learning beyond the classroom.

  • SAB’s Got Talent: a celebratory event that builds confidence, creativity and self-expression, giving pupils the opportunity to showcase their talents and support one another in a positive, inclusive environment

  • School Trips & Visits: enriching experiences that bring learning to life and inspire curiosity beyond the classroom

  • Sports Competitions: teamwork, perseverance and healthy lifestyles

Through these experiences, guided by our values, pupils are inspired to explore, create, lead, and reflect, gaining the confidence, skills and knowledge to flourish academically, socially and personally, and to make a positive impact on their communities and the wider world.
