Learn at Home

Dear Parents,

We hope that you are all coping through this very difficult time. It is a very trying time for everyone for so many different reasons. There are so many pressures with finance, mental health, feeling isolated - just some of the things everyone is currently coping with. Please know that we are thinking of you all and if there is anything that you want help with, please don’t hesitate to email admin3591@welearn365.com or contact your child’s teacher through Google classroom asking someone to ring you or send a message through Twitter and we will try to help. Please do not suffer in silence, we will always try to help if we can.

It looks as if schools will be closed for the next few weeks at least so we are now trying to formalise how we are setting work. On a Monday, your child’s class teacher will post suggested activities for the week on Google classrooms. These are also posted below and will change each Monday.   There will be a mixture of activities and you can choose which ones you do and when. Please know there is no pressure. We realise that sometimes things can be very difficult for many reasons and getting children to sit down and do work can be almost impossible. However, we know that the routine is very good for children and we would like to help them continue to progress as much as we possibly can.  Please return the work through Google classroom if you would like feedback from your child’s teacher. If you are still having problems with this, please email admin3591@welearn365.com

We understand that not every household has a computer or printing facilities, so will try to ensure that there are a mix of activities and that they do not all need a computer to do. We understand that a lack of computer is making it tricky to return work through Google classroom sometimes, but you will still have the activities there to do.   The Government have just announced a scheme that may help some families with this and once we know more, we will let you know.

From Monday 20th April, BBC Bitesize will also be doing daily lessons for all ages of children and we would recommend these as an additional learning opportunity.

We hope that this work will help to focus your children and give them something structured to do each day and share with their teachers. We do love seeing their work and what they have been up to.

Take care and we look forward to being together soon,

 Miss Huggins
