Sex and Relationships Education

Next week 22-26 June 2015) will be delivering our new Sex and Relationships education module. Please see below a diary that will inform you of the information that we will be covering with your children.  Whilst this is a topic that may be difficult or embarrassing to discuss with your child, we believe that it is important for keeping them safe. This scheme has been approved by the Governing Body who met with the representatives from it. It has also been discussed thoroughly with all teachers and a session was held last night for Parents to attend if they so wished.

Currently, it is not compulsory for your children to take part in Sex and Relationship education and it is your parental right to withdraw them for all or some of the programme. If you would like to do this, please let us know in writing or by phoning the office that you do not want them to take part.  Please be aware that if there are specific lessons that you wish to withdraw them from, the school cannot guarantee that issues from those lessons may not be brought up by the children in other lessons.

At the back of the diary you will see a section for words we will be using in school. You will receive this on Monday. However, what I can say that we will be using the correct terms for all the body parts, regardless of year groups.  The diaries will give you a good idea of the vocabulary that may arise.

Please read the diary carefully and inform us in writing or by telephoning the office if you do not want your child to take part.

Thank you for your support.
